a mexican corn lager and a decent one, although to me this was the least impressive of the three beers we had in here, not because it isnt good, its light and still flavorful, well carbonated, and appealing, its just that the others were so interesting and inspired, really a great brewery visit to this little hole in the wall! they use corn in this and i think its obvious in the less than fully clear bright yellow brew, sweet and earthy in the nose, soft on the palate, light honey to this too. fruity mexican lager yeast teases citrus to my senses, there is a doughy almost raw pale barley thing to this as well, good minerality, i think maybe slightly stressed on the ferment, run warmer or not allowed to lager as long, its not funky or messed up, but its not as clean and snappy as the best of these are, not way off, and it does finish dry, but its missing that briskness for me. still, i like that the corn can be both tasted and felt, and the simplicity here is nice. as it warms i get mild white florals, honeydew, and key lime, some hops chipping in later on but not adding much bitterness. big bubbles in this almost soda-like. drinkable and fine, but a little bit of tidying up is needed to take this to its full potential.
