12 oz can into a pint glass. Clear orange-ish golden color with a solid one finger of sudsy white foam. Doughy malt, corn, and faint piney hop aroma. Flavor exhibits a more traditional grapefruit citrus-y pale ale character but could use a little more bitterness to give it depth. Medium feel.

Clear yellow pour, small white head. Citrusy flavor and aroma. Great summertime beer.

Having the novice pedigree under the tutelage of Pilot Project is probably the only basis for me to award 4.25 Overall Hugs to an infant micro who, otherwise, is so young that it could not possibly have earned that much Overall. There is not much else of substance for me to gather from Standard Goods' website; but I obviously wish them well in the increasingly well-proven alternative development provided by Pilot Project.
Standard Goods' Pale Ale is cautious and, IMHO, that is welcome. Too often young micros add so many hops to an APA that it blurs the lines with the AIPA, which I've an adversity to for most of my BA career (which is getting on to almost a decade.) This Pale Looks inviting, with a decent foam that stays relatively active. Smells are mostly malt, but mostly bland. Tastes are balanced; but consider finishing with a bit more bitter hops in the next release. Medium-mouthed and soft. I'd like to drink Standard's APA next to a classic APA, primarily for historical comparisons.
