With a focus on citrusy hops from the Southern Hemisphere and an oak barrel finish, this double IPA is just the thing to get hysterical about -- if you're into that sort of thing. While it is unlikely this beer will inspire chaos on the magnitude of a city wide paranormal outbreak from an 80s movie, we do hope you are as excited as we are about this special brew.

Although the oak isn't present as I'd prefer, this is still a pretty good DIPA for the price. The citrus seems to be grapefruit, and the malt definitely follows the taste from start to finish. Worth a try if you get your hands in it.

Very disappointing. Harsh metallic taste, over bitter. The rum aftertaste isn't pleasant either.

Pours a translucent copper color with a big thick off white head.
The nose is wheat, caramel, sweet rum, a bit of alcohol, no barrel wood at all, and just a bit of wet grass. The flavor is an absolute car wreck. It starts with a little bitter piney hops, then comes this fake sugar flavor. Lots of booze, sticky finish.
This is almost undrinkable. Is it the barrel treatment or the base beer? Or both? Gross.

On-tap 11/9/2014 at Doherty’s East Ave Irish Pub, in Pawtucket, RI served in a tulip glass.
A: The beer is a deep amber color, with a large off- white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains fruity citrus, floral hops and caramelized malts.
T: The taste starts out very sweet with flavors of citrus, caramel and vanilla. There’s also a strong oak aging essence. Then a strong but not over-powering hops bitterness comes in, which seems tamed by the oak barrel aging. The malt character is hearty and creates a good balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.
M: Crisp and very smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, good kick, good aged representation of style, this is a very good beer to drink for a long time.
