Poured from a 12oz bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a deep gold color with a thin white head that fades very quickly and leaves a very thin lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains tart cherries, light malts and some wild Belgian yeast.
T: The taste starts out with a strong burst of sour cherries. Then some very thin breadiness comes in from wheat and a light malt character. There’s not much of a hops presence and there is very little balance. The after-taste is likewise sour.
M: Crisp but not very smooth, light-to-medium body, medium carbonation, finish is dry and slightly sticky.
O: Not very tasty, goes down ok, not too filling, decent kick, not the best representation of style, this is not a beer I would want to drink again.

More assertively tart than some of the relatively modest wild ales, berliners, and goses that have hit the US beer market this year. I wouldn't characterize this beer as complex, but it is refreshing on a hot day. Sour cherry on the nose and in the flavor, with a bit of musty overripe fruit and the suggestion of a honeyed bread malt. Mouthfeel is puckering and very crisp. Worth trying for anyone that favors the fruit end of the sour spectrum.

12oz brown bottle, sample from the brewery.
Thin lacing, clear light brown hue. Musty tart nose with a hint of cherry and bread crust. Lactic funk and a kiss of cherries fades pretty quick. Hint of toffee with some toasted malt in the middle. A dig the intention and even the upfront flavor but it just fades and leaves the palate a bit empty.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into an oversize snifter. Purchased in North Providence, RI.
Pours a golden amber body with a small 1 finger white head that reduces to a ring of retention.
Aromas are subtle and muted.. acidic cherries, slightly fruity, and a light grainyness.
Pretty sour on the tongue, acidic cherry juice, citrus, caramel-malt finish. Mouthfeel is medium-high carbonation and light, refreshing body.
I like it.. not cloying, super sour and flavorful, slightly one dimensional.
NOTE: It looks like they re-brewed Xavier and called it sourpuss
