Been debating about whether or not to review this beer for a while now. Was never sure seeing that it is severely limited to only the Middletown brewery. I've been by to pick up about 4 growlers of the stuff now. The beer is a bit of a hazy, burnt orange. The head is a bit filmy and dissipitates into little spots. I did not like that so much, but the translucent appearance of this beer is just too neat. The aroma is tangerines and grass. The taste is much hoppier than other CA Common beers, almost IPA. I asked about it this time and was told they hit it hard with Chinook hops. More citrus--harsh lemons and grapefruit. I like the citrus this way. The mouthfeel just wraps itself around the tongue. Nice hop-bitter kick to it. I don't go back for a beer too often, so it shows that I think this is a good enough beer to buy again.
