Was at dinner in Newport, RI this weekend at The Red Parrot. I asked the waitress for a pint of the house red ale. I also asked her if she knew who brewed it locally, and she told me Coastal Extreme did. Served in a standard pint glass. Dark orange cloudy body. Thin white head. Good amount of lacing on the glass. Smell had a nice earthy and malty aroma. Flavor was very pleasing. Nice hints of malt, with a little fruit and caramel mixed in. Mouthfeel was spot on - full bodied and smooth. Drinkability was very high, so good that I ordered a second pint. Paired well with a lobster sandwich. The Red Parrot's beer selection did not blow me away, but this beer is worth stopping in for a pint.

As far as I know, the Red Parrot in Newport, RI is the only place you can get the Red Parrot Ale, brewed by Newport Storm/Coastal Extreme. Beer is mild golden, minimal head. Pretty decent hop aroma, moderate malt body. Easy to drink, not outstanding in the flavor department but pretty solid. If youre in Newport, worth a try. You won't see this one anywhere else.
Hard to tell, have not gone side by side, but this could be a pale or clone of the Hurricane Amber ale. not sure, though.
