Great amber. It had a good look, feel, and taste. One of the better Amber's I've had.

i think i have the right beer here, on a handwritten beer menu it was just called red ale, but i think this is the only one they make and the abv matches. honestly its one of the best straight up amber types i can recall having in a really long time, no frills but super deep, interesting well beyond the norm for this often samey and unexciting style, and supremely well crafted, as impressive as any of the more exotic beers these guys make, which is saying a lot. the color is quite dark on this, past brick red even, not brown, but certainly into the mahogany to chestnut range, soapy sudsy frothing inch plus of khaki head, looks almost nitro level creamy, awesome. nose of toasted nuts, warm hearth fire, hearty rustic bread, molasses and maple but not overly sweet, fallen leaves and autumnal vibes, bran and an almost woodiness, really well grounded and distinctive here, complex as they come, subtle yeast character almost english, love this having some ferment personality to it, mellow as it is, and all of this is here in the flavor, acorn and raisin and toffee, but drier at the end, red apple and port wine fruitiness, leather and high end cigar, even scotch, bready and warm and hearty, lots of body but i could drink a dozen of these, palate coating and healthful to me, glorious. leather and earth, maple and wood, manly in brawny outdoorsy way. smooth to drink, awesome malt complexion and depth, some european flair to it there, outstanding overall. ill look forward to my next pint of this one! gold standard level.
