Lake Time Brewing and Spirits "Peach Sour"
16 fl. oz. can with a date code of "4/7" and sampled on 4/26/26
Notes via stream of consciousness: It's poured a clear golden body beneath a two-finger thick head of white foam. The aroma displays sweetish and grainy malt with fruity and floral notes. The flavor is fuller than the aroma suggests and there's a clear peach flavor to it. The grainy malt is sweet, and there's just a little bit of a mineralish character to it from the lactic fermentation. I'm getting some apple, and also a little bit of floral character which lends it just a little bit of extra character. I'm not finding any bitterness but none is needed as the acidity keeps it dry in the finish despite the sweetness of the malt upfront and some lingering fruitiness. In the mouth it's medium bodied and crisp. The head held up exceptionally well for a sour beer but it wasn't able to form much in the way of residual lacing. All in all this is an fantastic fruited sour: it's clear with a great head and thus a beautiful overall appearance, the aroma is clean and welcoming, the flavor delivers a great balance between sweet malt & acidity and fruity flavor, and the finish is tart but also with a drip of sweet malt and peachy fruitiness left lingering.
