Blind-tasted/rated.
Bought from Scotsdales Garden Centre Trumpington Cambridge. 500ml bottle. BB: 28/1/2025 Ouch £3.29
L- Dark amber, tiny hint of haze, good 3cm cream coloured head.
S- Mild, thought I do get a sense of 'dry' from it.
T- Bright... ooph!... right into a very sour/bitter hop-driven aspect. Is this a pale ale, it's 'hops forward' aka seriously hoppy-dry? It even leaves a sense of dryness on the tongue. Then I realise.... the hops are so dominant that I've registered nothing else (yet).
F- Well...! I wasn't expecting to have my palate challenged by this politely packaged beer. It's very dry, way too much so for me. There seems little else that breaks through that onto my radar.
O- A beer for high-summer? (ie 2-3 days a year in the UK hehe). It's suited to when you really wish to have a thirst properly slaked. Otherwise the hopping over-dominates for me. Shame, I thought their 'Parkers Piece' brew was superb.
Now rated/reviewed, I'll read the lables and note anything of interest here: '...bursting with hoppiness and character'. Brewed with wheat and barley, no other ingredients listed. No style marked at bottle - unusual. Digging around via Google I see ratings elsewhere as Red IPA, Golden and ESB. Maybe the first two are closer? It seems nothing like any ESB I've had before. Someone who can better determine the style might wish to adjust that shown above in the listing headers

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
