a nicely refined take on the style, couple of decent lagers in this newer operation i finally had the chance to check out, this is simple and clean, drinkable without being boring, and i think true to style overall but maybe lacking a little personality, which was the case with a few of these, not exactly causing a ruckus as they said they would, actually rather safe beer lineup, but the quality is there and thats what matters. medium amber color with good clarity and a full inch or more of just off white head, medium sized bubbles, looks about right on. toasty in the nose, not super sweet in nose or taste which is nice for this, my usual critique of the style, especially from domestic brewers, is too much residual sugar, but not here. the lager yeast presents as old worldy and well deployed, a little baked warmth in this, faintly herbal hops, basic but clean and well proportioned. the flavor is longer, caramel in the middle, a granola hint, honey, cereals, more from the yeast later, minerals and dough, great carbonation moving it forward, a subtle maple note makes it kind of autumnal, very good. lighter medium body, all very fresh to me, lovely grain complexion on this, well lagered too. technically very sound, gives me hope that this now third or fourth brewery in this building will be the one to stick around! great start here.

Taster flight at Ruckus. Copper colored pour, miniscule ring of head, spotty lacing. Malty aroma, caramel, dark bread. Taste is sweet, malty, toffee, with a bit of bitterness at the finish.
