Root Cause has at least one double meaning. But as a beer reviewer, I state that I found Root Cause in the Living Room at The Good Hotel, which is an alternative hotel in many, many ways. The Good Hotel's Living Room overlooks the Queen Victoria Docklands (now a fabulous recreation area) and the lighted gondolas and Millennium Dome. The Good is the most unique hotel I've ever stayed in.
Now about this beer... It's worth having twice and I haven't drank many APAs twice in the last decade. While the yeast could be more lively, it does most other things well: it kicks up a temporary foam, it Smells fruity and the malt sweetness is contained (the hops help.) A good effort for a young micro trying to figure out their role in the world.
RGBS is a nano without a website. (I don't do micro or nano-reviews if all you have is Facebook or Instagram. You have to be serious and write things down.) But because RGBS has such good intentions and I hope they make it, I share this Description of them that UnTappd posted, which is long enough.
"Crafted with conscience. We brew distinctive beer that helps make to the world a better place. Our unique ‘conscious brewing’ philosophy is at the heart of everything it does and ensures that ethics and sustainability have a seat at the table when it comes to running the business. Also, we have a commitment to donating 2.5% of all sales to charity is clearly marked on each label so that customers know exactly how their purchase is making a positive impact. RGBS is B Corp Pending and based in London. We're a phantom brewer, with the beer brewed a number of small independent partner breweries - but someday we hope to have our own site."
