Oddly enough, our entire staff met on the Sonoma State Rowing Team. Although most of the training was nightmarish, a particular workout was universally accepted without grumbling: Steady State Rowing. It was not too hard, not too soft, purely sustainable. This Pilsner was made to reflect that temperament and its light and clean qualities to avoid being overly malty or bitter. 5% ABV / 25 IBUs
Hops: Centennial, Hallertau
Grain: 2-row, Cara-Pils
Released: June 2019

On tap at a fancy French restaurant in Petaluma, Sonoma Valley. So, I'd conclude this brew was selected to go with rich food. And it did.

Steady State Looks like a classic pils, clear with tight bubbles running up to a decent foam. I Smelled mostly malt. (There may have been more, but my nose was attracted to a garlicky soup in front of me.) Tastes are balanced, clean and crisp. A gentle hop finish that let the food do its work. Medium-mouthed with good bubble action to cleanse my palate of butter fat.

While these guys may have been working at brewing since college and for a decade, they are not much more than a year in their current site. But they do have moxie and are thrifty. These are important values because more micros closed in 2024 than new ones opened. Good luck !
