Reminiscent of a New England pancake breakfast, this wheat ale is packed with locally-made maple syrup & fresh blueberry flavor, THEN aged in bourbon barrels for 6+ months. Balanced, earthy, oaky, sweet, complex: delicious.

16 ounce can, canned on 01/09/26. Served in a chalice, the beer pours a not quite clear not quite hazy amber/burnt orange color with about an inch light tan head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. Blueberry stands out in the aroma, along with some maple, vanilla, oak and a bit of bourbon. I think the taste is pretty similar to the aroma. Blueberry is the strongest flavor, and then everything else. Bourbon and maple are slightly stronger in the taste but wish it had more of a kick. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's smooth and easy to drink with a moderate amount of carbonation. Have to say I liked this one but then I like blueberries a lot too, but I'd recommend this more to blueberry fans.

Couldn't find the regular version but the bourbon age version was pretty reasonably priced at around $4. Smell was very inviting lots of bread pastry and blueberry not very much bourbon which is also good. Taste again mild blueberry sweetness good dose of caramel lovely Maple notes and a bit of barrel in the finish. Mostly sweet easy to drink hardly any bitterness whatsoever. As expected a great experimental beer worth trying it's got the two favorite things that I wanted a tasty blueberry aspect and a very solid maple flavor. I'll be on the lookout for the regular version!

Canned on 12/13/21. 16oz can poured into a tulip.
Pours a glowing burnt golden; subtle haze but there's still some clarity; small off-white head that fades leaving decent retention and lacing.
The aromas have subtle hints of blueberry. Some crackers and fresh bread. The bourbon is pretty mild and basically goes unnoticed in the aroma department.
The flavors follow the nose. The blueberries are balanced but are definitely the star. Some maple and caramel. The bourbon is subtle but ultimately noticeable. Low bitterness. Moderate sweetness. Nice malt backbone. Alcohol goes unnoticed.
Mouthfeel is full-bodied with moderate to active carbonation. It's sharp, fluffy and smooth.
This is a solid brew, but don't expect some bold bourbon barrel-aged beer. The blueberries shine and deliver, but the bourbon really doesn't make this one much different from their regular "Blueberry Maple Pancake". I was hoping for the bourbon to make more of an impact, but it's still enjoyable and fun to drink nonetheless. I'd still give this one the edge over the original. Not bad at all. I might sound critical but I really do like it.
