Beer Planet

Not that I try to make work for Monitors, but I added Beer Planet because it is focussed on Belgium's nanos and It seemed like half of them were in Brussels. So if my guess proves true, the epicenter of Belgian brewing is coming into Brussels and is leaving the farmhouse and regions. I find this nano-revolution fascinating and think other BA-ers will also.

I only bought 9 single ales because I'm here only another three days. But if I had a way to carry a case of singles, I could have easily. Perhaps 3 of 4 brewers on the shelves I'd never had (and I'm a Belgo-phile, albeit limited by Chicagoland distribution.) So the Selection is among the best if this be your niche.

Both the owners were there and were very patient with my questions and, more important, passionate about Belgian beers. (Curiously, both owners are Latin American; but let their site tell you about that.) Only having drunk half of the 9, I'd have to say I'm very impressed by how well these nanos can brew.

Beer Planet has reasonable prices and mostly 12 ounce bottles. They also is starting their own line with different contract brewers. They were giving away tastes of one of their brews. If you have only a few days in Brussels, go see Beer Planet on the first day. Sante' !
