Our friends at Human Robot have shown us a lot of love and hospitality over the past year, and they came up and brewed this Franconian Kellerbier with us, which is a rustic & unfiltered malt-forward amber lager. Kellerbier, also known as Zwickelbier, roughly translates to cellar beer, often young lagers that were traditionally poured straight from the tank. The name Rhön is inspired by the name of the mountain range in the Franconian region of Germany, which this style of lager originates from. We used Weyermann Isaria malt as the base, which is the oldest certified German brewing barley. Hopped in the mash with whole cone Tettnang and in the kettle with a blend of German Tettnang and Perle and then fermented cold under pressure to naturally carbonate
