For this beer we took a farmhouse wheat beer and racked it into barrels that previously held Lazier Susan (racked the beer out but left the fruit behind). This beer is essentially a second pass through Masumoto Farms organic peaches and nectarines. We fermented it using our house mixed culture of yeast and bacteria (Lactobacillus, Pediococcus, Saccharomyces, and lots of Brettanomyces). We ended up with a really cool and completely different expression of the fruit. Athletic Susan has great fermentation funkiness, quenching acidity, and bright stonefruit character.

No reviews yet? Fine. I'll give it a shot. Pours a hazy yellow/gold with a thin white head that leaves very little lacing behind and dissipates quickly. Aroma is light on musty/funk. Much less stone fruit than earlier iterations, natch. The farmhouse wheat beer "base" does wonders for the body, though. Somewhat dry. Light tartness, not as mouth-puckering as Lazy or Lazier. While certainly not the best of the bunch (LAZIER!) it's amazing to see what a second pass can do.
