Collaboration with Crowns & Hops Brewing Co. Packaged on 10/13, consumed on 11/2. Nelson, Riwaka, and Motueka hops. Poured from a tall-boy can into my Bruery tulip.
Clear marigold to amber gradient with a half finger of off-white suds. Even, soapy lacing; average retention.
Floral, perfume-like aromatics with low tropical and citrus notes.
Orange marmalade, crackery malt, and kumquat on the palate. Passing bitterness with a hint of quinine and white tea in the dry finish. A touch of lime at times as well. Not getting much from the Nelson (gooseberry? passion fruit? nope!) surprisingly.
Crisp, medium body, with some heat from the alcohol.
Fairly tasty, but one-dimensional and the potency doesn't seem to contribute any extra flavor.
