Collaboration with Alvarado Street Brewery
A collaboration with our friends at Alvarado Street Brewery. This Double Dry Hopped Triple IPA has loads of sweet, ripe tropical fruit flavors & aromatics. Fresh hop pellet, ripe mango/papaya, mandarin, danky, with a residual sweetness. Hopped with Idaho 7, Citra, & Strata then double dry hopped with a combination of Cryo Idaho 7 & Citra, regular pellets of Nelson, Citra, & Idaho 7.

Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England Triple / Imperial IPA
Glass: Pure Project 14-oz. Teku glass
Price: $19.99 for a mixed 4-pack
From: Blind Lady Ale House in Normal Heights (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Nov. 19, 2020
Consumed: Dec, 1, 2929
Misc.: Canned on Oct. 23, 2020
Grabbed a mixed 4-pack of Highland Park at Blind Lady Ale House. Planned on sharing these with Chad on a work trip to Reno, but this one didn’t make the cut which is crazy because it was the one I wanted the most. This collab with Alvarado Street was described as, “This Double Dry Hopped Triple IPA has loads of sweet, ripe tropical fruit flavors & aromatics. Poured a golden hazy color with two fingers of frothy white head. Could see a few bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Average spotty lacing. Good retention. (Sight - 3.75)
Smelled a nice mix of the mentioned hops, in order Idaho 7, Strata, Citra and Nelson. Specifically grapefruit, herbal, gooseberry, white grape and lemon zest. Nelson was coming in strong late. Very smooth for 10 pct. So much better out of the can. (Smell - 4.25)
Tasted even better than the nose. So smooth for 10 pct. ABV. Got almost an equal balance of Idaho 7, Strata, Nelson and Citra. Also grapefruit, papaya, mango, tangerine, gooseberry, peppery spice, herbal, lemon zest and hints of white grape. Nowhere near 10 pct. ABV. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Oily-to-creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, smooth finish. (Feel - 5.00)
Just a fantastic beer. World-class really. (Overall - 4.50)
