Really well-done taproom. And really well-done malty brews.
Port Angeles seems like the end of the world. Any further you go west, you enter the Olympic National Park which contains the only tropical eco-system north of the Tropic of Capricorn because it rains all the time... even if it snows as it has this past week. Whether that's your weather or not, it suits dark malted brews and Mighty Pine is might good at the dark stuff.

The micro is only seven months old and I agree with flagmantho's review just prior to me: this is a well-put together micro. It's a husband (home brewer)-wife(business sense) team that clearly is going to make it even in this city of less than 20,000. Mighty Pine specialises in darks and the four that I had (on a flight) were all good and two were competitive with the masters. I talked with the homebrewer-owner and the staff were enthusiastic about their product. The three locals I was drinking with thought that the homebrewer-owner has targeted its market segment well: Port Angeles has many slightly upscale retirees and many slightly downscale younger folks who need that extra community involvement. Mighty Pine also offers wine and cider, but as far as I'm concerned... their dark brews stole the show; consistent to traditional styles; but with just enough Northwest nuance.

I visited Mighty Pine Brewing yesterday while passing through Port Angeles. It’s a nearly brand-new place; they’ve only been open 6 months or so. The taproom is welcoming and rustic, though still clean and new. The whole brewery is visible from part of the taproom, which I always love to see!

There were 9 beers on tap when I visited: English porter, imperial stout, oatmeal stout, Scottish export, Czech amber lager, Czech Pilsner, pale ale, west coast IPA, and a juicy IPA. The beers I had were pretty solid; I was stoked to see a Czech amber lager on tap! Service was great; I chatted with the owners for a bit and they are really passionate about the place.

new build out; they’ve only been open like 6 months. welcoming, rustic taproom that clean and well appointed. 9 taps see pic. husband and wife team (owners) behind the bar today. very friendly and of course super knowledgeable about the beer. czech amber lager is solid.
