Another interpretation of the Session IPA style, Scratch #140 incorporates two completely disparate hop varieties. At one end of the spectrum is Chinook, the assertive American hop with a penchant for pungent pine and piquant herbs. At the other end we have Galaxy, an extremely fragrant Australian hop offering a bounty of citrus and tropical fruit. Don’t let the low ABV fool you! Scratch #140 packs a wicked punch in the aroma department and has ample hop bitterness to back it up. At only 4.3% ABV, you can afford to kick back and enjoy a few of these in one session.

ACBF pour
A-Pours orange with a thin, white layer of froth.
S-Hoppy tropical fruit nose that is quite impressive, especially for the ABV. Citrusy, with some peach and grass.
T-Packs plenty of hoppiness into a tiny frame. Grapefruit, clementine and nectarine hop flavors along with a grassy flavor as well. Malt is dry and bready.
M-Obviously light but it still has some body to it. Bitter. No alcohol. Vibrant bubbles. Very drinkable.
O-One of the better session IPAs I have had. I like session IPAs. They're not for everyone and I think they have a relatively low ceiling but for what it's worth, I am always pleased to see how much hoppiness they can fit in a beer under 5%.
