The IPAs just keep coming… and coming… and coming! This latest Scratch Beer combines three of our favorite hop varieties: Cascade, the classic craft beer workhorse with an unmistakable grapefruit note; Chinook, a favored variety here at Tröegs, with its earthy, sticky pine qualities; and El Dorado, a wonderfully multifaceted variety incorporating tropical fruit, pear, melon, and fresh-cut grass attributes. If that wasn’t enough, we further dry-hop with Centennial, Cascade, and Columbus to deliver an explosive citrus-forward aroma.

Served on-tap at the brewery.
A - Pours hazy yellow with a nice one finger tall white head, quickly dissipating down to a light ring around the edge, leaving small streaks of lace on the sides of the glass.
S - Smells of piney and grassy hops with a bit of grapefruit and other tropical fruits as well as the mildly toasted caramel. Takes awhile to get going but once it does it is pretty good.
T - Starts off with some sticky pine resin and fresh grassy hops quickly being joined by the dulled tropical fruit zest and light citric hop bite as well as the mild caramel malt sweetness. Finish is a little bitter, not lingering for very long after the finish.
M - Medium body with moderate carbonation. Slick, bitter feel moves across the palate and is gone before you know it. A bit of booze creeps in as it fully warms up.
O - Another decent IPA in a long, long line of them. I wouldn't go out of my way to try it but it is worth a shot if you get the chance.

On tap at the brewery yesterday.
Very nice looking pint, yellow, faintly hazy, generous white fluffy head, very little carbonation. Enjoyable lacing. (I love finding odd things in lacing, this time, a dogs head)
Getting the fruit on the nose, expecially citrus, right off the bat. Some melon as well. Must be good to get through my nose, which is often a bit dodgy.
Aaahhh, this is some good stuff. Really like IPA's with a good fruity background. Also very smooth due to low carbonation. Getting hop bite on the side of the tongue.
Smooth, between medium and full on the mouth. Personally I like the low carbonation from small batch beers, think it adds to the enjoyment on the mouthfeel.
Overall, enjoyable pint which went down a bit too quickly methinks. 6.9 abv .
