I had this at the Beer Yard in Wayne, PA. The guys from troegs brought a keg over there for a tasting night. A very nice suprise.
I was told that it was trogenator wort pitched with the mad elf belgian yeast. It certainly seemed like a cross between these two beers.
The appearance was a deep brown with a light tan head that retained well throughout the 12 oz cup that I had.
Smell was sweet, and very reminiscent of mad elf.
Taste heavy on malts, hops were hinted at, but not strong.
Mouthfeel was a little thin, not quite as rich as I had thought it would be.
Drinkability was fine, it went down easy, I could drink a few of these, and I was tempted as I shopped, but the hour plus drive ahead of me kept me to just one cup.
Overall, a nice beer that I am lucky to have tried considering its lack of availability. I was told that the keg at the Beer Yard was only the third place it had been tapped.
EDIT: I accidentally reviewed this under bottle serving, the beer was on-tap.

I sampled this at Belgium Comes to Cooperstown. The brewer said it was Troegenator fermented with Belgian yeast.
The beer pours an amber color with a thick offwhite head. The aroma is good. It boasts of pale malts and Belgian yeast; dry and slightly fruity. The taste is decent. It has a light and dry flavor. It is full of pale malts and some hops. The mouthfeel is decent as well. It is a low bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This was an experimental batch that is destined for the cutting room floor. It drinks well, but doesn't really belong in the Belgian class.
