Appearance - Pours a hazy, pale goldenrod color. There's a ton of carbonation streaming from the bottom of the glass which fuels a small, but resilient, bone-white head.
Aroma - The aroma is quite subtle. The yeast is actually the thing I'm getting the most, following by a toasted biscuity malt smell. Only faint traces of the fruit can be observed here.
Taste - After my first sip I had to look at the crowler to make sure I was tasting the same thing the label was describing. I'm not getting any sourness, hell, even calling this tart seems like a massive stretch. Troegs mentions lacto... and again I fail to notice it. The peaches and apricots must have been dosed sparingly, because they too only suggest at their presence and if it wasn't mentioned in the description I'm not sure I'd even pick them out. Despite the cognitive dissonance between what the beer is described as and what it actually is, it isn't too bad of a beer. It just gets a 0 for style / description.
Mouthfeel - The mouthfeel is nicely carbonation with a dry, crisp finish. Nothing wrong here.
Closing Arguments - Give me this beer blind and I'll call it decent, if not ordinary, beer. Give me this beer with the pretense of it being a fruited sour and I'll call it massively disappointing. I was really hoping for a nice showing from this beer since it's a massive departure from anything I've ever had from them. Oh well...
