Second bier of the night at the brewery... 10oz pour in a small tulip, for $6.00.
It is a dark, near-opaque bier. Mostly a deep chestnut color, with a short, fine tan head. Lacing is ok.... Nose is some brown sugar and raisins, with a hint of molasses. Feel is solid, medium body and minimal prickle.
Taste has some caramel and brown sugar, with some dark fruit trying to poke through. Overall flavor is not too pronounced or complex , but still flavorful. Zum Wohl!

Solid all-around offering. Nose is lacking, but the tongue has the expected notes. Very malt forward but you can pick up some raisin & toffee along side the standard grainbill for the style. A little thin as well but not awfully so

Had this on 2016-12-10 at the brewery.
Quite nice. Lighter than Flying Mouflan and not as complex.

I'd love to slam this beer, but I can't simply because of what it is. It's not a barleywine, but a batch that was likely brewed to blend and debitter a batch of actual barleywine. They've done it before, and I'm certain that this one was meant to do the same.
It's a strong, dark amber ale, with little to no hop presence. It is good, (as a baby-debittered-mouflan), and seriously drinkable.
