Had on-tap at the Drafting Room in Exton PA.

Appearance: clear golden yellow in color with a 1/2" head that quickly falls to a surface foam. No lacing develops.

Smell: grassy tones are all that is picked up.

Taste: nice malty backbone here. Lemon citrus, grass, and mild bitterness make up a nicely balanced brew. Crisp and clean. Straight forward german pils here.

Mouthfeel: crisp from start to finish. No aftertaste as this is a clean finishing beer. Light-medium in body.

Drinkability: super. This can be quaffed all night long. It is refreshing and thirst quenching. Nice beer.

First beer of the day and I had two samples so as to really get a hold of this. A straw colored lager topped with a small bubbled white head. Good fresh malt smell, alcohol is present with a nice grassy hop smell too. Taste is rather good but I think the 6% somehow works against the fence-sitting beer. It is not quite in the Imperial pils, but it is too prevelant for a regular pils. Still I like this meaty pils but they should go one way or the other with it. Still the hops were noticable if still uneventful. I would drink this over most other pils or adjunct lagers, but I still think they should go oneway or the other with this beer and since they already have a good sunshine pils maybe bump this up and double the pleasure.

Available only on tap at the Troegs brewery tour, so head there on a Saturday at 2pm if you want to try this beer.

The most I can really say about this Pilsner is that it is like a less refined, lower quality version of their excellent Sunshine Pils. The taste is a bit rougher, with a lot of the smoothness of the Sunshine being absent. The mouthfeel is equal in the slight roughness. Appearance-wise, it mostly looks the same: a light golden with little to no head.

Obviously this kind of beer goes down quick & easy, so there is a certain drinkability factor, but the samples were free & (relatively) unlimited, and I still didnt want a second.

On tap at Troeg's Brewery. Served as a pal, light yellow colored beer with moderate white puffy head. Smell is a nice crisp hoppiness. Taste is a nice maltiness with the hop crispness giving nice balance. Finish is crisp and refreshing. Easy to drink, but nothing spectatular.
