I stopped into Tröegs on 01FEB18 for a couple. Started with a 12oz pour of this new bier, at $6.00. I was told they used some new hops - Lemondrop and Caliente... OK, we'll see...
Small tulip was filled with a rich, slightly hazy golden liquid. Had a thin, fine white layer of foam, mostly at the edges. Lacing was A-1 all over. Nose was rather mild, with citrus and some rindy action. Body was medium, and it had a decent feel on the tongue.
Taste had some toasty malt, with subtle caramel. Also had faint sweetness, akin to apricot and tangerine. Also found a smidge of lemon in there and a touch of pine. Citrus notes were good, but lacked oomph. The 9.40% ABV was hardly noticeable. Not bad... Prosit!
