A growler from Troegs.

A: The ale is a cloudy, beige-like color with a thick finger's-worth of head.

S: The ale has a weizen aroma of estery clove and banana. It also takes the weizen a step further with a more concentrated alcochol aroma.

T: The ale starts with a strong clove and banana flavor and transitions into a stronger wheat flavor that has a stronger alcohol content.

M: The mouthfeel is airy, light and strong, mixing the weizen esters and the stronger wheat body well.

D: The ale is very drinkable with a light taste that is accentuated by the strength of the bock.

I picked up a growler of this today at the brewery. Poured into a pint glass it is a deep amber with a good one inch head that settles but the thin layer on top stays throughout. Lots of lacing. The smell is of a good wheat beer but a little sweet. The taste is different than anything I have had but very good. Sort of a malty wheat. This beer is very smooth with a RIS feel. I could drink this all night, wait a minute I am! At least until the growler is gone. This is a beer I would definitely recommend. If you're in the Harrisburg area stop by and get some, you'll be happy you did.

A- Thin tan head. Cloudy amber body. Lacing covering top.
S- Smells like a dopplebock mixed with a hefewiezen. Has the sweetest and malty smell of a dopple with a wheaty grassy kind of smell from a hefe. Smells like something very interesting and I have never smelled a beer like it (haven't had to many beers from either style or variations of them).
T- Taste kind of follows the smell with the malty and sweet caramel flavor from a dopple with a wheaty taste from a hefe. Maybe a mixture of fruits also. I'm picking up some light bananas with another I can't really put my finger on. Very interesting brew. Also get a bit of warming in aftertaste from the alcohol. A pretty bready taste also. Big clove taste comes out along with it all.
M- Thin to medium body with a light to medium carbonation. It is quite refreshing though.
D-It is a interesting brew but nothing to go crazy over. I am very glad I got to say I tried it and will probably leave it at that. Is a nice refreshing beer though that seems to combine styles pretty well.

I would classify this as a dunkelweizen, rather than the implied doppelbock. It's a combination of the DreamWeaver Wheat & the Troegenator Doppelbock and if I hadn't known that ahead of time, I would've picked it to have been a dunkelweizen. They fermented it with the same yeast strain they use for the DreamWeaver...
On tap at KSBF '06...
Appears a hazy, dark brown with a small but fluffy, light tan head. It slowly fades out and leaves lots of streaky lacing all over the glass.
Smell is of banana, toffee, clove, and yeasty spiciness that compliments the caramelized richness.
Taste is of the same aromas though slightly better with a toasted oat flavor.
Mouthfeel is tangy with wheat, along with a bit of funk flowing along the medium bodied brew.

Served on-tap AT Troegs' drafting room, this is a mix between the beloved Troegenator Dopplebock and the Dreamweaver Wheat, so not ALL info about this brew may be extremely accurate. Much info was taken from owner John Troegner during conversation.

Pours a dark, cloudy chestnut color with a billowy tan clingy head that tops out at about an inch above the body. A lot of lacing on the glass.

Right away on the nose, I get some nutmeg and coriander. A sweet malty body underlies a banana peel aroma. This reminds me of a belgian dark really.

On the sip, it comes out a bit sour at first with a very chewy body. A bit of biscuits hit my taste buds right away, backed by a sweetening bananas flavor, along with some spice there. A bit of alcohol hits also toward the swallow drying this out a bit and a bit bite. Bananas and cloves are the afterflavor on this. Very nice!

This is a very drinkable brew, and I'm glad I picked up a growler of it. now, will the 7% catch up with my by half-time of the 1:00 games? probably!
