Style: American Imperial IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 8.20%

Availability: Limited (brewed once)

Notes / Commercial Description:
When we make our annual pilgrimage to the hop-growing hotbed of Yakima Valley, we’re like kids in a candy store. We eyeball the hops on the bines, crush them in our hands and rub them til their oils fill the air. LolliHop brings together three of our favorites. Dry-hopping with Citra and Mosaic layers in notes of orange, grapefruit and melon, while Azacca in the kettle adds hints of papaya and pineapple. Locally harvested rustic pale malt provides the backbone, and wheat and oats make this beer silky smooth with a touch of haze.

We taste: pear, citrus, hint of melon.

Pretty fantastic. Quickly dissipating head of tight, compact bubbles that leaves some nice lacing. Smells fruity with no bitterness. Some mild citrus notes, but doesn't beat you over the head with them as a lot of IPAs do these days. Some pineapple in there too. Taste largely follows the nose, adding some pleasant fruity notes that I can't quite place cuz I'm not that adventurous when it comes to fruit. It's all very light on the bitter and heavy on the juice. Pleasant mouthfeel; medium to full-bodied. Overall a pretty great beer.

Pours a very slightly hazy golden color with a half inch white head that left a lot of lacing. Smell is on the mild side with citrus, tropical fruit and a bit of malt. Tastes of lemon, orange, cantaloupe, pineapple, sweet malts and a bit of bread. Medium bodied and carbonation, minimal bitterness, smooth mouth feel, very easy drinking.

L. Yellow with a hint of orange, mostly clear, frothy head of various sizes bubbles.
S. Candied fruit, a bit musty, pineapple, orange, some lemon and melon.
T. Light biscuit, sweet lemon, orange, pineapple, honeydew and some cantaloupe, juicy ripe berry like fruit juice Kool aid, finishes with some lemon, melon, and lemon-lime soda.
F. A bit fuller than medium bodied, smooth. Yeah, very smooth.
O. For me, a different IPA. Lacks any bitterness, not very balanced, but I am pretty sure that's what they were going for. I say it's very good. Cheers!

Nice beer here. Lots of hop aroma and taste. Tropical stone fruit, orange, pineapple and cantaloupe. Nice malt backbone that balances things out. Could do without the oats but overall a very nice IPA.

Appearance: light yellow with a white head
Aroma: mango, peach, citrus, light biscuit
Taste: peach, tangerine, pineapple, light boozy note, sweet aftertaste
Mouth feel: light to medium body
Overall: very good. Little to sweet. Would be better a few gravity points lower.

A: The beer is slightly hazy yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that left a large patch of bubbles on the surface and some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of tangerines and cantaloupe melon are present in the nose along with notes of pineapples.
T: The taste has flavors of cantaloupe melon and mango. No alcohol is perceptible.
M: It feels medium-bodied and faintly crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The aromas and flavors in this beer seem to beer light for what you would normally expect from an Imperial IPA, but it is nice to have delicate bits of melon in the smell and taste.

As soon as you open it you can smell the hops pour out. But it’s surprisingly not as overwhelming as it first seems. Definitely on the sweeter side for an IPA

Poured from a 16oz can into a Trillium IPA glass.

Look is a pretty clear yellow with a thick white head.

Hops are light and floral, really light enticing aroma.

Taste matches aroma, light floral taste with a light sweetness. Alcohol is totally hidden.
