Scratch Beer 434 - Hazy Double IPA

With Scratch #434 – Double IPA, we’re getting a little geeky on hot-side hopping and mouthfeel. We added Idaho 7 in the whirlpool for notes of apricot, orange and resiny pine. By tweaking the mineral composition and pH of this beer, we’ve tamped down bitterness in favor of a bright texture. Oats and wheat help deliver a hazy profile. Dry-hopping with Bravo adds notes of sweet fruit and orange, and El Dorado contributes hints of peachy pear.

We taste: apricot, orange, sweet fruit. Low bitterness.
