Back in July of 2021, we visited our friends at Warwick Farm to collaborate on a colossal IPA recipe. The result was Foraging for Clouds, a Triple IPA that flew off the shelves at their family-owned farm brewery. This year, we scaled it back to DIPA territory. Built on a grain bill of malted barley, flaked oats, chit, spelt and wheat, it’s soft and pillowy with a hazy body and dense, foamy crown. Heavily dry-hopped with Azacca, Bru-1, Citra and Simcoe, you can expect huge aromas and flavors of juicy peach, passionfruit and citrus. Come get your share, as it’s sure to vanish in a flash!

A - Hazy medium golden tan pour with steady, tight carbonation and a dense creamy layer of foam on top that sticks to the sides of the glass.

S - Citrus and passionfruit are the main ingredients on the nose.

T - Soft malt base with passionfruit, peach, grapefruit, and ends with some piney bitterness.

M - Big pillowy soft medium body with some chewyness.

O - Decent but not memorable.

Pours an opaque golden straw color with two fingers of head. The nose has a lovely blend of citrus and pine notes. The flavor profiles starts off with some pear and peach notes. The finish gets a touch bitter with a resiny mouthfeel.

This is a well-crafted beer and there's some nice tasting notes. However, nothing here is bold enough to make this a world-class DIPA.

From a 16oz can dated "freshest by" 3/13/24 into a tulip.

Pours a very murky, essentially opaque yellowish, brownish orange with about three fingers of white head. Incredible retention and lacing.

Nose is decent. Citrus and pine mainly. Maybe a bit of peach and lemon.

Some lemon zest, orange, peach, citrus and pine in the taste. But also getting some alcohol heat. Ever so slight bitterness. Really was expecting more...

Medium to full-bodied soft mouthfeel. Medium carbonation. Alcohol and bitterness in the aftertaste.

A decent enough beer. It's well put together but I'm glad I only have a single.

Things change and this version only rings in at a 9.1% ABV. The contents of the pint can now emptied into a clear glass liter mug. The pour was stellar, a richly bright, yet hazy and opaque amber colored ale, with tints of gold. The off-white head was reasonable at first, then reduced itself to marginal. The pit fruit reference on the label is not far off, although it's hard to find. This is not particularly aromatic. But, it is a smooth and tasty Imperial New England IPA, with an ABV that's only noticed for its contributions to the overall taste. Its label's pit-fruit reference isn't a bad one, as it has some of that character. Yet, it's not sweet enough to be problematic and an ample amount of hoppiness, especially during the finish, balances that out, nicely. Overall, this is an excellent brew. It carries plenty of taste and alcohol in a richly smooth body. The taste transition at the finish, to dry and bitter hops is excellent and appreciated. Maybe there wasn't much glass lacing, but there wasn't much else wrong here.

12 Feb 2022- Updated Review and rating from my original review in January
Still very impressed with this beer. Incredibly smooth and as I said almost chewy. Very long back of mouth feel finish. I can't say I get overwhelmed with any fruit as you might with other heavy IPAs but it is just a really, really good beer. I'm sticking to my original rating and might even bump it up a tenth point or so.

Apparently, this is a collaboration beer between Troegs and Warwick Farm Brewing. I purchased it at the Troegs brewery...where to start...this was only the 2nd triple IPA I've had so take that as you see fit...

Let me start by saying I could drink it all day...but then again not a damn thing would get accomplished and I would have to sleep it off every few hours. A hazy medium citrus beer with lots of mouthfeels, almost chewy, and a great back of throat smooth finish. You get the full alcohol content after the first swallow or two and you know it packs a punch but it is one of that beer you just say "screw it, I'm drinking more". I felt it was complex beer by which I got different flavors as I progressed through the glass and it has to now be one of my favorites but remember there is that punch from the combination of high alcohol content and the carbonation, ladies and small girly men beware but to the details...

Purchased at Troegs on 1/14/22 dated best by 5/10/22

L-Medium head, small retention..... the small amount of lacing. The hazy slight yellow color looks a lot like a moderately hazy IPA that is pretty common these days

S- smells are slight and need to be focussed on to get the full effect, nothing overpowers but I get the usual citrus, some pineapple, some orange

T-Incredible chewy mouthfeel, almost syrupy and smooth. Long-lasting back of throat bitterness finish but not overwhelming. there is honey sweetness that finishes

F-Very smooth, almost "thick" for a beer...incredible feel, IMO in the best of class category

O- An experience that can't be repeated too much or you will need rehab but an outstanding beer in my opinion...headed back to Troegs to buy more,
