We've been digging on our recent American IPA trials, and Scratch #518 should be more of the same. This beer builds on #515 and a few classic "C" hop varieties. Chinook joins El Dorado varieties on the hot side of brewing, while Citra, CTZ and more Chinook fill the dry hopping on the cold side. With notes of sticky citrus, dank pine and tropical fruit, it's dry with just enough bitterness for a West Coast style ale.

From a 16oz can dated "Freshest By" 3/5/25 into my Troegs tumbler. Appropriate. Additional can info: 241031-probably canned on 10/31.
Pours a translucent golden yellow with a little more than one finger of white head. Nice retention and lacing.
Smells of citrus. citrus peel and pine. Light floral notes as well.
Citrus in the taste as well. Mild piney bitterness.
Medium to full-bodied, slightly sticky mouthfeel with a dry finish. Medium carbonation.
This is a nice enough beer. Probably would fall under that category of "well-rounded" WCIPA. Some bitterness there, but not the main player.
