Since we lovingly call Grand Cru the "Director's Cut" of Mad Elf, then this is a spirited twist on the tart cherry feature film. Time aging in bourbon barrels has spliced this holiday ales notes of Balaton cherries and subtle spices with hints of vanilla and toasted oak. Sit back, relax, and cherish the whiskey-soaked cherries.

12.7oz corked and caged bottle into a goblet. No date on the bottle, but I believe it's a winter 2024 release. Troegs beer #100!!
Beautiful deep dark burgundy body, clear when held up to the light. Loose off white bubbly head fizzes away quite quickly, no lacing. Excellent aromas of cherry, honey, bourbon and oak. On tasting, sharp tart cherry with boozy bourbon. Very warming, hot really, in the throat. The boozy finish does recede quite quickly.
Overall, tart and boozy, would be interesting to revisit in a few years to see if the bourbon has mellowed.
