A - Very hazy, golden body with a fluffy white head that stood about two fingers tall...the head slowly fell to a rocky cap and left some lacing behind

S - The nose provided some alcohol heat...mixed in were some Belgian spices, yeast, and a big dose of banana

T - A sweet note starts things off...caramel jumped out first before being taken over by the yeast strain...that was paired with a hint of clove and coriander...the yeast also provided some spiciness to it...banana notes started to come in and it provided a hint of sweetness as well as some body...a hint of alcohol in the finish

M - Medium bodied...something was missing...could have been fuller...some spices linger

O - I like this style, but Troegs has not been able to hit it on the head yet...Dream Weaver is good, so maybe they should just stick to the regular hefewiezens

Served on-tap in the Troegs Tasting Room.

A - Pours murky brown with a nice one finger frothy white head leaving small trails of lace down parts of the glass.

S - Smells of Belgian spice, bubble gum , banana, clove, bready wheat and sweet caramel malt. Nothing over the top, it met my expectations.

T - Starts off with some sugary sweetness mixed with some earthy yeast esters and clove spice. As it dies off the bubble gum, banana and some toffee show up to round things off. Finish is sweet heat, leaving the palate dried long after the finish.

M - Medium body with moderate carbonation. Flavors are well balanced amongst themselves. Booze is evident from start to finish but it isn't too bad until the very end of the glass.

O - Gotta admit, I am not the biggest fan of this style so take my review with a grain of salt.
That being said I enjoyed this one. The last scratch weizen was god awful so compared to that one this was quite nice. It began to wear on me toward the end of the glass, I doubt I would get another full pint of this but a half is definitely doable.

Was able to get over to Troegs recently during a break in the action at Ft Indiantown Gap for some libations. Started with a fat flute of ol' #86 ($5.00). Glad I lead off with this, as it kicked shortly thereafter....

The glass had a slightly cloudy, mahogany liquid within. Couldn't tell what the carbo action looked like. Up top, the cover was thin and wispy, mocha-hued and fine. Lacing was decent. Aroma had some choco and clove, a bit o' banana, and a touch of bubble gum. Pretty smooth for the style, it was, and the body was solid.

Real nice banana hit the palate first, with clovey chocolate giving covering support. There was a little bubble gum here, too, but it was restrained. Flavors really started to shine as it warmed. Too bad it kicked; a growler was under consideration... Prosit!
