Served on-tap at the Brewery.
A - Pours clear amber orange with a nice one finger tall white head leaving spotty patches of lace down parts of the glass.
S - Smells of rich caramel malt, mild noble hops, light fruity esters, toffee and a bit of light spice. Well balanced nose with nothing really standing out.
T - Starts off with a quick noble hop bite quickly being enveloped by the strong caramel and toffee malt backbone. Some very light fruitiness and a bit of black pepper spice help round things out. Finish is bittersweet quickly fading away, leaving the palate dried long after the finish.
M - Medium body with moderate carbonation. Smooth, rich feel with a bit of residual sweetness. It is very easy to consume in large quantities.
O - Don't see this style all that often so I am not really sure how to compare it to others I have had. It is a well balanced beer with a decent amount of bitterness for so few IBU's. Yet another flavorful, easy drinking scratch beer.

I had this on tap at the brewery tasting room. Served chilled in a stange type glass.
The color is dark copper bordering on bronze with great clarity and thick light beige cream atop. The bead is fine and lace sticks well, retention is good. The smell is malty with subtle mineral and light earthy aroma. There is a mild sweet caramel accent but hop aroma is low. The feel is good -on the dry side with moderately high carbonation and subtle sweetness and bitterness with mild yeast effect on the palate.
This Alt has some of the traditional malt flavor with mild malt breadiness but low on hops and subtle German yeast in the taste. The flavor is good with some relatively high carbonation adding to theimpression of spiciness. The finish is mostly dry with no alcohol noticeable in the taste just some yeast mineral character with a mild lactic tinge and creaminess in the finish. I liked this but have had many Alts i prefer to this even if it is a decent interpretation of the style. I am glad to see another less popular style being brewed in the scratch lineup
