Little too smokey for me, but sweet too. Taste a little marshmallow but not much.

16 oz can. Pours black with tall, long lasting, creamy, brown head and nice lacing. Aroma is of roasted malt, toast, dark fruit, chocolate and coffee. Body is full, creamy and smooth. Taste is of nutty, roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, brown sugar, dark fruit, vanilla, marshmallow and herbal hops. Finish is long and bitter. Nice brew.

Thanks to basaywhat for this 16 oz. can which sounds right up my alley.

The pour is dark pastry stout. The nose is roast that’s overwhelmed by sweetness. Marshmallow. Couldn’t identify it without the print on the can, but there it is.

The PastryArchy Edition #11: Carmallow Imperial Stout is in no sense a pastry stout. It’s a dull stout with a touch of roast, & a cloying, artificial stab of marshmallow & a harsh, bitter finish. To add to the experience it only has 44% of the thickness necessary to tag itself as a “pastry” stout – it’s more porter than stout. Does not improve with warmth.

DuClaw is one of those breweries I always expect more from. Three ounces in me, thirteen for the sink. This beer is full on failure for me.

The most disappointing variant of the series it drank so heavy full of harsh roasts and herbal bitter chocolates I had to do a double take on the cover art. I guess it's suppose to be a caramel and coated chocolate marshmallow but I get little to no caramel and the vanilla or marshmallow aspect is practically non existent. I wish I could say something positive about it but it was heavy and harsh along with offering nothing sweet to make it candy based. Its a shame because some of these beers were pretty exceptional.

Collaboration with Wockenfuss Candies. Canned on 4/15/20. 16oz can poured into a tulip. Pours almost black; creamy khaki head that falls slowly leaving great thick retention and sticky lacing. The aromas are malt forward. Hints of cocoa and marshmallow. The flavors basically follow the nose. More marshmallow along with some caramel. More cocoa along with some chocolate. Subtle sweetness. Moderate bitterness. Solid malt backbone. Alcohol basically goes unnoticed for the most part. Mouthfeel is full-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's fluffy, creamy, slightly velvety and smooth.

This is a solid stout. It's not flashy or anything crazy, but it's not bad at all or anything like that. It's enjoyable. It drinks like a classic and traditional "Imperial Milk Stout".
