Poured from the bottle into a Flying Dog goblet/tulip glass.
A two finger off white head is formed, quite fine and creamy looking, with an almost Belgian like lace to it as well. Body color is an orange amber, a touch cloudy but fairly clear for the most part, very little carbonation except the odd creeping bottle.
Aroma is pretty much as described and very delicious. Spiced pear indeed with a bit of juiced fruit, but the spice hits first with what seems to be a good amount of nutmeg like character. Kind of goes to a fruity lighter malted winter warmer with a pear spin on it. Quite nice.
Palate seems to just squeak out enough good qualities with a lacking body. Watery malt put with a big amount of nutmeg and clove filling the mid palate for a good balance on the slightly sweet pear flavor. Aftertaste gets a little clove like hot though a bit on the swallow, but still manages a tolerable balance between fruit sweetness and spice warmth. Even a small touch of booze but nothing large.
A fun take on a fruit brew, maybe even a touch of Belgian hiding in here, or winter warmer ? Fun to explore for sure.

Poured into pint glass. The color is clear golden with a two-finger, bright white head and substantial lacing that did not dissipate. The smell features faint pear, spices, and a bready malt. The taste is far more spicy than sweet. It's also a lot more bitter than I anticipated. It's a crisp, refreshing ale with pleasant carbonation and the 6.8% ABV is certainly not overpowering. Perhaps this ale is better fresh but I'm just not tasting the pear as I had hoped to.
