Brewed with Local 44. Duet is a 5% abv Belgian style golden clocking in at 64 IBUS of all noble hops. Primary fermentation is the Ardennes yeast that made gnomes famous around the globe with secondary fermentation executed by a Drie Fonteinen Brett strain. The result is a golden ale of uncompromising complexity that is the perfect session beer.
Inspired by Taras Boulba and De Ranke XX Bitter, we think you'll agree: Manayunk Brewery gets some major props for pulling off such an enjoyable and sessionable fruity, spicy, hoppy and bone dry creation!

On tap at the brewery. Looks flat and a sickly shade of yellow orange. Smells like dirty gym socks - brett gone horribly wrong. Tastes like rotting vegetables and garbage. I ordered something else and left this on the table. That anyone was able to drink this tells me I might have just had a bad keg or dirty lines?

Draft at Strangelove's in Philadelphia, PA.
Pours a hazy, dark golden orange color with banana colored edges and a frothy, three finger, pillowy white head. Great retention, only slowly settling into a thick, lasting cap. Large chunks and streaks of soapy lacing left behind.
Spicy aroma with a strong pepper presence along with some bread and ester-y Belgian yeast and notes. Zesty spice with white pepper, clove, ginger and grains of paradise flowed by bread, biscuit malt, floral hops and light fruit sweetness. Nice peppery spice presence in the nose with subtle piney hops, strong bread/yeast character and crisp, light fruit notes.
Medium body with really tight carbonation. Slightly over carbonated with some oxidization which is strange for a bar's house beer. Dry, earthy bitterness followed by floral hop notes, flower petals, bready yeast, zesty spice and light fruit. Surprisngly hop forward with a strong floral and zesty spice character. Crisp and peppery with hints of coriander and grains of paradise along with sweet apple cider and pear esters from the Belgian yeast. Crisp and refreshing but a bit too over carbonated. Otherwise, this is a pretty solid beer. The carbonation level eventually settles and the palate adjusts but it's still a bit harsh. This has a lot of potential and aside from the carbonation issue, it was an enjoyable beer.
