12 oz can poured into a shaker pint.
Purchased in a $10 mystery bag at the Iron Abbey in Horsham, PA.

Appearance
Cloudy apricot yellow with yeasties floating around. Short white head dissipates quickly.

Nose
Honey, biscuit, and grapefruit.

Taste
Biscuit and honey malts. Very light grapefruit hoppiness with hints of orange citrus and lemon.

Mouthfeel
Light bodied, crisp, clean, and lightly bitter.

Overall
Decent beer. Nice malt profile but the hops are very restrained presumably based on a very old can. Will try again fresh.

- draft. pint glass. 4.1% abv.

A: Chill hazed golden-tangerine colored body, with a milky 1/2 covering atop. Some distinguishable carbonation within. Nice sheet lacing down the vessel.

S: Fresh lemon citrus on the nose, citrus squeeze, tart lemonade with a hint of pepper and fresh bread. Average awareness for an ipa but above considering intent of style (session) and low abv% 4.1. Decent duration.

T: Flavor is bready citrusy-pine with some peppery hints. Nice flavor upfront, thins out a bit mid-palate, but not a deal breaker, again with consideration to intent and abv%. Some pilsner like graininess, earthy dry herbs and peppery pine on the finish. Short duration.

M: Light, with a peppery-pine warmth on the inner cheeks.

O: A great lawnmower ipa that is refreshingly tart, with a wet citrusy hopping that won't slow you down with a 4.1%abv that doesn't hinder this one bit flavor-wise.

DISCLAIMER: I reviewed this as intent of style (session) vs. a typical ipa guideline which i do not think is a fair analogy in a craft world that is constantly blurring the lines between styles with hybrids and different interpretations that should be rewarded and not held to antiquated standards.

I am on a Manayunk CAN Kick lately and although a pic does not exist, I just submitted one for approval, plus I have access to more, should the need for a retake arise. It is nice to be back on The CANQuest (tm)!

From the CAN: "Daydreamin' Session IPA is an ultra-crushable, crisp IPA that allows the drinker to have several beers per session. The balance of floral and piney hop aromatics - with just the right amount of alcohol - will satisfy your thirst after a hard day of work without overwhelming your senses."

The Crack! revealed another brimful craft CAN and so I decided to employ an inverted Glug to get things started. This created two fingers of eggshell-white head with limited retention, but the lacing that remained in its wake was lovely. Color was a hazy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5), but the lack of clarity meant that the Gelt Boys (Croesus, Mammon and Midas) were uninterested. Their loss. Nose was redolent with grapefruit-citrus hops, which got my hopes up, but I know how these session IPAs work. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was citrusy, but not as pronounced as on the nose. I was also getting some offsetting maltiness, which is not really my thing in an AIPA. I know that there is a market for these beers, but I am not their target audience. Finish was semi-dry, but it had the potential to be much more. I felt unfulfilled.
