I had this beer at the Manayunk Brewery and Restaurant in Manayunk, PA. It came in a pint glass.
Appearance: The body is a cloudy yellow color. The head is a white color, one finger tall, has good retention, great lacing and big bubbles.
Smell: The aromas are yeasty, earthy hops and a slight bit of generic malt.
Taste: The flavors are pine cones, grass and hay.
Mouthfeel: The mouthfeel is crisp with a light body.
Drinkability: This beer is pretty drinkable.
Don't drink and review.

On tap at the brewery on 7/5/08.

A - Clear golden body with one-finger bubbly white head that quickly vanished and left no lacing whatsoever. Large bubbles of carbonation darted through the glass.

S - Grassy hops and some lemon juice mixed with a dirty water aroma. Pretty weak overall. NOTE: My wife's sampler included this brew and her sample didn't seem to have the same bad aroma. Perhaps my glass wasn't clean or rinsed properly. Regardless, it seriously detracted from the aroma of this brew.

T - Taste is a little more promising than the aroma, with the grassy hop bite coming out a bit more in the flavor. Malt is mild and bready. There is also a touch of lemon zest present as well.

M - Pretty thin and watery texture with a slight oily residue. Very soft carbonation for a pilsner. Pretty nice grassy hop bite, though.

D - The aroma was certainly off-putting, but possibly because of a dirty glass. Of course, if they brew with Philly water, that could also be a problem. At any rate, I was definitely underwhelmed with this pilsner, so my first impression of Manayunk was a little unsettling. I tried some of my wife's samples, though, and most were pretty good, so perhaps another visit would be in order.

pale gold color. ok lacing, but the head died on me
seemed a little macroized: clear light malt character, but weak. the hop flavor was actually nice, with a decent floral aroma from the hops

not sure what kind of consistency with which manayunk offers its beers. it may be the kind of place where the brewer has a lot of freedom and isn't held to a consistent lineup (but i picked "year round" for the availability)
