Traded for this a while ago, although there wasn't a date on the bottom of the can so I have no idea how old this is! If you're a fan of the Genesee Cream Ale like I am, you'll get enough out of this beer to feel like it was worth the effort. No, this won't win any awards but sometimes, it's nice to kick back with something light, sweet, and fun such as this!
Not a bad look to this beer as it was golden, radiant, and topped off with plenty of soapy, white head. Not what I expected for something with espresso beans in it. Just about all the lacing in this was seen along a thick ring at the middle of my pint glass. Lots of cream, sweet coffee, and root beer in the nose as this felt more like a soda than a malted barely beverage. Ditto for the taste as this was lively, foamy, and sweet on the palate without having so much sugar and high fructose corn syrup in it; which served as a reminder that indeed, this was a beer. A bit of sarsaparilla could be found here as well, as this had a decent body and no discernible malt...
The same could be said for the alcohol, as it was quite tough to pick it out in the middle of all of this. A true session beer and American Cream Ale, this would be enough to win anyone over to the style as it made me wish that more brewers would take it on. Slick like coffee and espresso without the roasted, heavier nature of them, this was worth a go once and would be a fitting dessert beer after a heavy period of imbibing. Glad I was able to get my hands on this!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
