Poured from a 12 oz can into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Clear light golden pour with thin white head. Modest lacing.

S: Coconut and pineapple... funky and fruity. Smells awesome.

T/F: Tart up front.. light lemon and funk. Strong tart pineapple followed by coconut and some fruity sweetness. Light bodied... well carbonated. More pina colada in the finish.

O: A very interesting and tasty Gose... and I love how the coconut works with this one. Great beer!

Cloudy pale orange color. Medium body as well as carbonation action, to me it had an o we all good feel
Aroma is pineapple, pineapple juice, and coconut . Very strong pleasing aroma
Taste is similar, pineapple forward followed by coconut. Some cereal and malt start to show up as it warms.
Figured it would be gimmicky but it was actually a very decent beer. Especially as a summer beer it worked perfect for after mowing the lawn or sitting on the deck

-Pina Colada Gose with sea salt served in Duvel globe.

A: Faint orange coloring has an even fainter display of effervesce within a pristine clarity. A quickly dissipating head quickly turns to a polished surface. The vessel is free of lacing.

S: Loads of fresh coconut flakes and pina-colada scents are true on the nose. Hints of pineapple slices of really good strength lingers for a good period of time. Touches of sour fruitiness and sea salt comes on the trail.

T: Sour watermelon and pineapple fruitiness are prominent at first for the flavor. Nice coconut presence, fresh, wet flakes, with an overall presentation that was very clean and crisp. The sourness was light, clean and crisp, gentle for newcomers, while some soft sour orange wheatiness and sea salt accents close things out.

M: Light carbonation presence on the mouthful, with a crisp palate on the tongue. Clean, softly oily texture with some mineral content is delicate. A very soft salty sendoff lingers only briefly.

O: I really enjoyed the aroma on the open, true to pina-colada terms, the flavor was crisp and softly soured with sea salt accents. Very good drink-ability to style, the sourness was a bit on the light side. I give props for the inventevness of blending a pina colada style drink with the gose style, especially since I'm partial to pina-coladas and coconut as well the gose style. The aroma was spot on, the flavor was moderate or as close to be expected. Perhaps a wit style pina colada, creamy white wheat base to add more substance? But i regress, this had a nice tropical fruitiness and range of flavor by style, I personally liked the pairing, worthy a try if you do too.

Central Jersey Beer Fest.
On Tap to 2 oz. tasting glass.

LOOK: yellow, foamy white head
AROMA: super pina colada smells - Pineapple and coconut bring you to a tropical island.
TASTE: like aroma, but less strong. Still tasty. Tropical flavors work well with this style.
FEEL: a little weak and thin

Another nice find from Manayunk.

Manayunk Brewing Co. "Swan Dive Piña Colada Gose With Sea Salt"
12 fl. oz. can without production coding or freshness dating
$2 @ Shop Rite, 2800 Fox St. Philadelphia, PA

Notes via stream of consciousness: What's going on here? Has Manayunk jumped the shark? I assume this is an Evan Fritz beer but it just sounds crazy - or is that exactly right, his beers are all crazy! Well we'll see. I'm a little trepidatious and definitely skeptical, but who knows, maybe this will take me away to a tropical island somewhere. It pours a very hazy straw gold colored body beneath a short lived head of bright white - but it's common for sour beers to lose their head almost immediately, so that's OK. The aroma is distinctly coconut but there's some pineapple in there as well. It's OK but not great. It's from extract so how good could it be? The flavor expresses piña colada as well, with less coconut than the aroma suggests, and it's moderately tart, which is good because any more tartness would have killed it. The salt is also fairly low key, and I think that helps as well. Sitting in the hot sun I could see having one of these. At any other time of the year, probably not. Light-medium in body and gently crisp. Surprisingly well balanced. Refreshing.
