This is one of the better pumpkin ales of the season, with no bitter aftertaste. Great history attached to this brew...made fromGeorge Washington's original 1760 recipe found in the National Archives. I so like brews that have historical implication, I hope you do also.

The best pumpkin beer I've ever tasted, hands down (not including, of course, Weyerbacher's Imperial Pumpkin which is a much bigger version of a pumpkin ale). And guess what, no spices were used here, just pumpkin. It has the typical appearance: orange-amber with an off-white head; and decent retention and lacing. The aroma displays pumpkin, just as if it were a pumpkin pie. It's mild, but it's there. In the flavor it's more profound, but not spicy. It's really well-balanced and very drinkable. The pumpkin flavor just keeps drawing you back for more. And since it's not spiced it never builds on the palate. A really interesting, refined brew! Absolutely worth trying!
