Drank from a 1 pint can purchased at Harvest Wines & Spirits, West Hartford, CT
Packaged 12/13/18
Served in a tulip

The hazy, straw yellow body was topped by an inch-tall, off-white, soapy looking crown that dropped to a clingy collar. No lacing or head retention whatsoever.

The aroma was amazingly fruity and exotic initially. Huge tropical fruit presence. Passionfruit was most apparent. Mango and papaya were also noticeable. Touch of honey-like sweetness too. Soon, however, the tropical notes subsided and citrus fruits took over. Lemony and wheaty. There was a subtle, dank Mosaic hop note as well. Later, the papaya reappeared. Overall, really interesting.

The flavor was definitely more bitter and simplistic than the nose. Touch of pale malts on the front end before the hops took over. Grapefruit dominated. White grapefruit specifically. Really pithy, dry and bitter. Lemony and wheaty in the center. More grapefruit and pithy grapefruit rind on the back end and in the finish. Notes of bitter pine resin were also noticeable and lingered after the swallow.

Fluffy, lighter bodied mouthfeel. Frothy and smooth on the palate. The liquid contained a medium bubbled, greater-than-average carbonation.

Double #NO FILTER is a solid double IPA with a bright, exotic, fruity nose but a flavor profile that came across as a bit too dry and bitter for my palate. This reminded me of a melding of both East and West Coast takes on the style.

A: hazy burnt orange color with a thin bright white head

S: mango, pineapple, creamsicle, melon, passion fruit and crackers

T: passionfruit, guava, and melon. Sweet clementine and creamsicle behind that. A touch of alcohol tinge as well. Some ripe mango at the end with some light cracker. Touch of sweet malt at the end also

M: heavier side of medium mouthfeel, low carbonation

O: a fine example of a double NEIPA

12oz can. Pours a cloudy brownish orange with an inch of head. Good amount of lacing. The aroma is lots of citrus fruits. Lime, orange, creamsicles, tangerine, pineapple and guava. The taste is pineapple and tangerine followed up by the creamsicle flavor. Guava, mango, and tangerine. Tangerine and guava finish with some light cream. Medium body with a dry mouthfeel. Moderate alcohol burn. This definitely delivers on the promise of upping #No Filter, which is a really good beer in it’s own right. I bought this at the brewery and would certainly make the trip again for it.
