Poured from pint can into pint glass. Thick head the color of burnt caramel, with good lacing. Body of the beer is a dense brown-black. Sweet smell of malt and some nut aroma. First sip is about chocolate, smoke and peanut with malty sweetness, well combined to mask the 8.5% abv. There wasn't as much peanut flavor as I anticipated, but that was probably a good thing.

Not as much peanut butter as advertised, but still pretty tasty. No alcohol taste despite the content. Easy drinking. Got on tap while traveling in CT.

Draught @ Brewery: This one pours an opaque brown color. There was no head or lacing. Good nose. Chocolate, roasted malts, some peanut butter, roasted malts, lactose and maybe some vanilla. The taste is good. Has some bitterness and sweetness. Chocolate, touch of peanut butter and roasted malts. A nice creamy feel. A good one!

Got in a trade with brutalfarce. 16 ounce can into snifter, canned on 12/14/2018. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1 finger fairly foamy and fluffy tan head with poor retention, that reduces to nothing pretty quickly. Minimal spotty lingering head, no lacing, light streaming carbonation. Good appearance. Aromas of big peanut butter, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, cream, roasted nuts, and toasted dark bread; with light notes of molasses, dark fruit, smoke, char, wood, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, lactose, peanut butter, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big peanut butter, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, cream, roasted nuts, and toasted dark bread; with light notes of molasses, dark fruit, smoke, char, wood, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Mild herbal, floral, woody, grassy hop; and roast/char bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of peanut butter, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, cream, roasted nuts, toasted dark bread, light molasses/dark fruit/smoke, wood, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, lactose, peanut butter, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; with a solid malt/hop/roasted bitter/sweet balance; and no cloying/acrid flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/roast bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and lightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. A touch thinner than expected. Minimal warming alcohol for 8.5%. Overall this is a great flavored imperial milk stout. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, lactose, peanut butter, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV, with the mildly bitter/drying finish; great soft feel. Awesome balance of rich malts, lactose, and PB flavors; with mild fruity yeast, and earthy hops against sweetness. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example.
