Clear amber in the Pilsner glass. A brief but coarse foam. Slightly sparkly mouthfeel to start. some sweet malt flavors. A tart highlight with some hoppy zing. Rather bitter with the sweet taste all over again on the lips with each new sip.
However, the taste is just very plain with an herbal hop flavor. Overall this is grainy, bitter, and quite unappealing. It certainly doesn't taste much like a Pale Ale. It's more of a murky amber. I like RedDiamond's more poetic review. Not much has changes in four years, unfortunately. On tap at the brewpub.

The stereotypical PNW APA?
Clear, light amber in colour with an off-white head, not a lot of retention but it leaves a really nice lace.
Nice citrus & biscuity aroma. Taste is full of nectarine and grapefruit, with some underlying biscuit. A fair amount of bitterness, boardering on what some would call an IPA.
Moderate body has a nice, crisp finish.
Quite drinkable.

La Conner's Pale Ale is unexpectedly bitter. It's scathing, almost sinister. Punky yeasted elements arrive in the smell and taste while hops bring terse spice rack qualities but no flowers or pine. Bittering is tight as a snare clap.
The pale enjoys classic pale ale coloring with low carbonation. You can watch individual bubbles rise sluggishly through the brew as they feed a big bright head. Overall, a dry ale with sharp angles. Not what you'd expect.

Pours a bright amber color with about a finger of head and a little lacing. Smells dank and very slightly apricotty.
Taste is bitter without piney hops, a little bit of sweetness, a little rainwater. Slight metallic tang.
Mouthfeel is thick and sticky. Wouldn't be my first choice, but wouldn't be my last. I like my pales a lot hoppier than this.

Appearance: Arrives with a clear goldenrod color and a nice head that retains and laces, too

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with moderate carbonation
