Copenhagen 23/4 2021. 33 cl bottle from Ølkassen web-shop. Hoppe.beer’s usual design supplemented with Hopdaddy’s logo. Light brown and dark blue colors.
Pours murky amber with a big white head. Bubbly. Settles as thin patchy layer of foam struggling to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a sweet malty odor mingling with spicy sent. Sweet pale malts, hay and bread. Distinct odor of black pepper and hints of chili.
Medium strong carbonation. Medium thick, oily, lively and tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a more moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish and a bit thin. Lingers for a bit. Finish is sweetish with a light pepper burn.
Not a very Saison-like Saison. Sweetish with a fine Chili-streak.
