Copenhagen 23/7 2021. 33 cl bottle from Ølkassen web-shop. Hoppe.beer’s usual elegant design this time in red and black and with “Hop Daddy”’s logo added.
Comes gushing out of the bottle leaving beer all over the place. Pours unclear - almost transparent - golden orange with a big, bubbly white head. Settles quickly as a thin patch of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet malty odor mingling with mild spicy scent with yeasty notes. Lemonade, oranges and a bit of peach. Light whiff of black pepper and ginger. Hints of lightly smoked peat.
Medium strong carbonation. Thin, oily, soft, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a sweet medium strong sweetness followed and balanced by a medium strong sourness. Aftertaste is sour but a bit thin. Lingers shortly. Finish dry and sour.
A bit thin in flavor but it gets credit for bringing something new to the party.
