Copenhagen 21/1 2021. 33 cl bottle from Høkeren, Ravnsborggade, Kbh. N. Hoppe.beers usual elegant design in light yellow and orange with a orange haired lady as little illustration.
Seems to have some pressure issues with the cap popping and the beer gushing out of the bottle. Pours opaque, hazy, dirty golden yellow with a big white head. Clumps of yeast at the bottom of the glass. Settles as thin but consistent layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet fruity odor mingling with a dry tart sour scent. Canned peach and pineapple. Sour citrus and lemon.
Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, soft, smooth, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly more moderate tart sourness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a light tart undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry.
A bit on the sweet side for the style. But naming a beer after the proprietor of the bottle-shop Høkeren is a nice touch .
