Sol Invictus is a crisp saison delicately flavoured with vanilla, cloves and coriander seeds. It is fermented at high temperatures and the result is a crisp beer, where the sweetness comes from esters in combination with vanilla, and the phenols create depth and complexity.

Copenhagen 3/2-2018. 75 cl bottle from Høkeren, Ravnsborggade, Kbh. N. Very graphic label which looks a little like something Chris Ware could come up with.
Pours hazy golden yellow with a bubbly white head. Settles as a thin lonely patch of foam. No lacing.
Aroma has strong sourness but with something sweeter as well. Cloves and vanilla, gooseberries and hints of elderberry. Quite fresh.
Strong carbonation and slightly thick texture.
Flavor is medium to strong sweet which is quite surprising taking the aroma into account. Followed by a medium sour tartness. Aftertaste is sourish and a little spicy.
Too sweet for the style. That said this is a quite nice take on a alternative Christmas Beer.
