The brewery calls this a "Dark Saison" and it is a very dark beer. Served in a tulip, the beer was black, with no translucence, and had about a half-inch of light tan head that had moderate retention and good lacing.
The expected yeast and spice notes are very subdued and there was just a slight hint of roastiness. The Saison features were more apparent on the tongue, but were still not as well defined as I expected. Some spice and a trace of roast lingered on the finish.
The body was fairly typical for the style, medium and crisp. Drinkability was good, as i find most Saisons to be. Overall, a nice, but not special, beer. Worth trying if you see it.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
